I have decided that, for the most part, people are stupid. Now, this doesn't mean all people, just people in general. There are exceptions to this, just like most everything else... But this has been a feeling that I haven't been able to shake for a number of years now.

Most of the human race is something akin to a herd of sheep or cattle. They group together in their little cliques and oust anyone who doesn't fit into their criteria... "Your wool's not fluffy enough." or "You don't make enough milk." Shit like that. *rolls eyes* The usher each other into just about anything and everything.

Of course, that could also be called 'peer pressure' but that's a whole other rant entirely.

Anyone who doesn't run with the herd is a 'lone wolf' or 'black sheep'. Someone who doesn't fit in. The herds make fun of them, tease at them, antagonize them in some way, shape, or form. That would be because they don't understand them. The herds don't see how someone could live apart from all those things they've discovered. In some cases, the answer is obvious and in others, it's not so obvious.

For some, it's a matter of not wanting to 'conform' to other people's sense of what is 'cool'. For others, it's because they feel like being a part of the herd would cause them to lose their identity. For others, like me, it's simply because the herd doesn't do anything for me I can't already do for myself.

Besides, my little herd is much, much cooler than theirs.
